The long awaited launch day arrived with weather that was sweltering. The heat experienced was typical of August weather in Wisconsin, not June! Fortunately, it did not deter the guests and the enthusiasm of the night at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in an air-conditioned room. Enjoyed a guest response of over 100 people.
The mood of the evening was painted with beautiful soft background notes of music played by Hannah and Nathanial Wolkstein on cello and violin. The room was set up with white linens and blue table runners the color of the blue morpho butterfly on the book cover. The Floral Studio of Sun Prairie, created the beautiful floral arrangements of blue/white hydrangea flowers sporting blue morpho butterflies flitting on top to finish them off added just the right touch to the theme of the evening. Blue Plate Catering did an outstanding job of presentation and delicious food along with bar compliments.
Kira Henschel, of HenschelHAUS Publishing, handled the book sales while I was able mix and mingle with my soul family of friends and supporters. Sharyn Alden of Sharyn Alden Publications was also present to make sure photos and final details were attended to. Both Kira and Sharyn were vital components put in place to make the evening run smoothly.
The guest list extended to the Green Bay area, Milwaukee area, Grafton/Cedarburg area and points north south, east and west in Dane County and Portage, Wisconsin. Included many people who were written about in the book. I was so pleased with the response to the event. Even high school friends made it to the event.
The book signing at the end of the evening was an added enjoyment as so many were anxiously waiting to get the book.
