About Chaplain Kathy Collins, ASC
Some speakers bring slides. Some bring statistics. Chaplain Kathy Collins brings a life story that reads like the universe wrote it.
Kathy is a seasoned hospital chaplain, author, and speaker whose life and work are grounded in compassion, authenticity, and deep spiritual insight. Raised along the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, Kathy’s professional path spans the corporate business world, hospice volunteering, grief education, and hospital chaplaincy. Her diverse background—and personal journey as a cancer survivor—have uniquely prepared her to support individuals and families facing life’s most profound transitions.
Kathy’s call to chaplaincy followed a life-altering cancer diagnosis and a near-death experience, events that reshaped her understanding of purpose, healing, and the power of presence. Rather than retreating, she embraced the unknown. She discovered that life’s most excellent tools are love, service, and the ability to truly listen.
In both her hospital ministry and public speaking, Kathy seamlessly blends heartfelt storytelling, spiritual wisdom, and gentle humor. Her signature presentation, “A Heart’s Journey: To Powerful Listening,” invites audiences to explore the transformative power of attentive presence, especially during times of grief, uncertainty, and change.
Kathy is the author of The Mystic Chaplain – My Story (available on Amazon), where she shares her extraordinary journey and the lessons she has learned along the way. She continues to write, speak, and lead with grace and resilience—reminding us that the heart knows precisely where to lead us, especially since it’s the most reliable GPS of all – the one that beats in your chest.
